This September, Hearthside Books officially celebrated its 50th anniversary, a milestone few local businesses ever reach.
Since opening in 1974, Hearthside has been more than a bookstore. It has been a gathering place, a source of discovery, and a cherished cornerstone of Juneau’s reading community. Generations of families have found their favorite titles and toys here, and the Hearthside team continues to foster that same love of learning and imagination fifty years later.
The anniversary was marked with snacks, giveaways, and live music from local artists, Lisa Denny and Magical America, filling the mall with a true community celebration. It was not just about a business, but about honoring a legacy.
